Ten days after the barbaric torture of a mother and daughter, this sleepy town in western UP is seething with anger but the police have managed to arrest only one person and his family members are on the run.

That's why 27-year-old Jyoti and her four-year-old daughter Shreya, ready for discharge from Delhi's AIIMS, don't want to leave the hospital. Jyoti, reliving the horror, is scared that she will be targeted again.

She lost half a finger and her face was cut by her in-laws. Her daughter is recovering after a vagina repair surgery. According to Dr Neena Malhotra, the child was brought to the hospital with a 4-cm `perineal tear' after being inserted with a broken wiper reportedly by her father and grandfather. ``The girl is doing ok and is ready for discharge,'' Dr Malhotra says. ``She has to pass the urine and stool through an incision done in her abdomen as both her urinary and anal passages were damaged. A closure surgery would be done after six weeks and she might be well after that,'' she adds.

Jyoti, meanwhile, has another reason to be at the hospital. She has asked the doctors to abort her two-month pregnancy. ``I can't let a child come to this world knowing how brutal a father and his family can be with their four-year-old daughter,'' says Jyoti.

These filthy pople should be shot deat in public, so that nobody would do that thing again.
