'I wonder if Kalam is that childlike' - SHoba De

India's original media head-turner, 'bindaas' personified, first editor of Stardust, writer of a succession of best-selling, sex-laden novels, epitome of post-prudish femininity, mother of six and many things besides, Shobhaa De pioneered the New Generation Indian woman. One who wasn't hypocritical enough to hide her sexuality behind a coy 'pallu', she ministered confidence to the newly emergent woman professional, a rare breed when she got going in the 1970s. Over the years, Shobhaa has evolved into a symbol of post-modern Indian womanhood, harbinger of an age that sees Sheila Dikshit, Vasundhara Raje, Uma Bharati, Sushma Swaraj, Mayawati, Mamata Banerjee and, of course, Jayalalithaa at the helm of politics. In a contemplative discussion with Chandan Mitra, an iconoclastic Shobhaa reflects upon her evolution.

Hmm, I haven't read any of her books, though I know she is a rebellion writer, may be I will have to get some next time.
