We need to put pressure on PM to get Joshi out of HRD

Governments of the past must be commended for their vision to have established and nurtured institutions like the IITs and IIMs. The fact that this commitment has stood the test of time of over 40 years and has been acknowledged unequivocally by the world. Credit must also go to the dedication and persistence of the educators in these institutions who gave up many lucrative options and possibilities and brought these institutions to where they are. Government had a role to play in the nascent stages. Today, when we talk of being international, needing freedom to compete with the world, being world class and so on, the IIMs and IITs should not be of any concern to the government.

The government has done what they had to do. Now onwards, the IITs and IIMs must be allowed to chart their path within the framework of some social norms and responsibilities.
