Bachchan honors crusaders

With Medha Patkar, Sundarlal Bahugana, Anna Hazare, Tarun Tejpal and T N Seshan going 'Viruddh', it was possibly the greatest social drama Bollywood has ever seen.

These were some of the real-life crusaders Amitabh Bachchan's AB Corp decided to honour at the launch of its upcoming film. To be made simultaneously in Hindi and English, 'Viruddh' or 'Versus' is written and directed Mahesh Manjrekar and stars the Big B, Sharmila Tagore, Sanjay Dutt and John Abraham in pivotal roles.

'Viruddh', which is the story of a middle-class family's fight against injustice, also brings together on screen Amitabh and Sharmila Tagore after a gap of 22 years. The two were last seen in Manmohan Desai's 'Desh Premee'.
