New Apartment Complex

Well, today I am moving to this new apartment complex Summit Buena Vista. It has got all the amenities, its a cool one. The whole deal is about furnishing this apartment and finding a roommate.

I need to set up a big white board in the house so that I can do all the stuff about discussing the new project and all the math , diagrams and all the related stuff. I am going to stay here for a month and I am going to live a good life with some standard of living, going into it ;-)

Then gradually, need to buy a couple of computers and set up linux, jboss, apache, eclipse, jgraph, hybernate, cvs etc. It all looks exciting, going to have some real good time.

Whats Good About India

I always thought about doing some thing like documentary or some thing to recognize the day to day hero's of India. Well, I have never done that until now, but there is Mr. D V Sridharandoing this now in the website GOOD NEWS INDIA

He is a one-man army, who edits, designs the site, meets the heroes of India, writes about them, takes pictures with his digital camera, and personally replies to all his fan mail.

"Media is full of negative stories, and if anything good gets done, it is tucked away somewhere. I felt I had to do something and Good News India is the outcome," he says with undiminshed pride.

So, how did Sridharan get the idea of a Web site? "It was on my first journey to understand India that I stumbled upon this idea." Till his real journey to understand India, Sridharan was a globe-trotting marine engineer savouring the best of various countries.

"I came back to India, after a stint as a marine engineer and was surprised at the prevalent cynicism, and the mute acceptance of how India was a very corrupt country and how India could never progress," he said.

This struck Sridharan as odd.

"India had an ancient civilisation and things could not be so bad all of a sudden, or is it that we don't see the other India where the good exists," he asks.

XDOCLET

XDoclet a very good tool for generating xml descriptors of applications, and java code which helps in managing the DRY principle of software coding.

Today there was a very good presentation on XDoclet by Craig Walls is the manager of web application development for a Dallas, Texas-based retailer, is a co-author of "XDoclet in Action" (Manning, 2003), and is a committer to the XDoclet open-source project. He has also had articles published in Java Developer's Journal and on IBM's developerWorks web-site.

Its a very good insight into the XDOCLET. Xdoclet has the facility to automate descriptor/code generation for almost every concevable technologies out the i.e EJB, WebApps, Mock Objects, Hybernate, castor, JMX, Portlets etc. I should leverage the power of this tool in developing Visual Biz-IC.
