All Brainbench Exams are Free in May

I have been a fan of BrainBench.com almost from the time it was a beta version. I saw it grow tremendously both in quality and quantity in the last few years. It helped me grow a lot in my career. Today I got a promotional mail about BrainBench Games II from them:

We are excited to announce the dates for the second annual Bench Games. Last year over 200,000 people from 179 countries participated in the event. We're expecting an even larger turnout in 2006.

Not familiar with the Bench Games? It is an international intellectual competition during which we make all our 500+ certification tests free -- YES FREE. The event will occur this year 5/1/2006 - 5/15/2006.

Questions to be answered during Bench Games II:

* Will this be the year that India overtakes the United States in IT certification?
* Will Eastern Europe continue the certification initiated showed in 2005?
* Will "The South" once again win the regional battle within the United States?
* Will Linux and Unix certification prove more popular than Microsoft?

Support your country (find out how), enhance your resume, and get a chance to win great prizes, including iPods and Brainbench subscriptions.

To learn more about the Bench Games, please visit our web site!

I totally recommend Brainbench to everybody.

Success can make life look very good when it really isn't,

Harvard Business Review has a very interesting article:Resisting the Seductions of Success.

Tony and his wife have two children. He works for the New York office of the Securities and Exchange Commission, but his job is just a resting spot. Tony has a promising political career ahead of him—in a recent election, he almost beat a heavily entrenched incumbent. Tony is a veteran, with a Silver Star for bravery in Korea, and an entrepreneur. With his good friend Max, another attorney, he has started a law firm and made large investments in a computer company and a restaurant chain. Tony is an up-and-coming leader with bright prospects.

Then Tony makes two extraordinary decisions. First, he commits a serious but brilliantly undetectable crime. Next, despite the advice and pleas of everyone around him, Tony goes to the authorities and confesses, which destroys his professional life, throws his family into chaos, and puts them in physical danger. Leaders aim at success, not self-destruction, but this is exactly what Tony brings on himself.

Wireless Networking In Developing World

Here is an free online book: Wireless Networking In Developing World
About the project:

The massive popularity of wireless networking has caused equipment costs to continually plummet, while equipment capabilities continue to increase. By applying this technology in areas that are badly in need of critical communications infrastructure, more people can be brought online than ever before, in less time, for very little cost. We hope to not only convince you that this is possible, but also show how we have made such networks work, and to give you the information and tools you need to start a network project in your local community.
